Jake and Ashley's Wedding

Hans and I (and the boys) started our vacation on the 17th of June to travel to Indianapolis for Hans' brother, Jake's, wedding. Ashley and Jake had been dating for about 7 years and got married on June 20th at Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church. The whole weekend was wonderful. We had a cocktail party on Thursday night to celebrate John's honorary doctorate from Concordia Theological Seminary. On Friday we went to the rehearsal and dinner at this lovely place called Plums in downtown Zionsville. Saturday was filled with the hustle and bustle of getting ready and the wedding in the evening followed by a wonderful reception at a place called The Sanctuary in downtown Zionsville. The Sanctuary is actually an old church and throughout the years has been many things and now serves as an art gallery and cafe. The wedding was beautiful and John had a wonderful sermon. Hans and I enjoyed two evenings out with out the kids and it was nice to get away.

I don't have many pictures from the weekend, but hope to get some professional ones ordered soon.

Gus and Christian...obviously Gus had no idea what Christian was talking about.

John wanted to hold my flowers, but I had to watch him closely because I was afraid he would through them across the sanctuary.

Mike, Andrina and me at the reception.
