10 Years

Happy Anniversary to my amazing hubby!

I can't believe it has already been 10 years.  It has been a wonderful 10 years (mostly), filled with 3 kids, 2 foster kids, 2 calls, 4 jobs, 1 house, 1 dog, and 5 moves.

I hope we have many more years together to drive each other nuts.

--Hans has amazing stuff planned to celebrate 10 years.  He has actually been thinking about it for a bit.  I, however, in true Katie fashion have nothing.  So, Hans William Fiene,  I may totally stink at celebrating anniversaries and all this mushy love stuff, but know that I love you more than you love me.

9 Years

Well, we made it 9 years.  It was touch and go there yesterday, but we made it.  All kidding aside, I married a wonderful man.  He is gentle, patient, kind, funny (to some), totally sarcastic, loving, passionate, sincere, and pretty darn handsome.

Thank you, my love, for 9 wonderful years.

59 Years

Last week on September 11th my grandparents celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.  

For richer and poorer, in sickness and health these two have forged through highs and lows and still manage to sleep in the same bed!  They are a wonderful example of what married life should be.  I see Hans and myself like this is 51 years.  My grandpa is a funny man and is rarely ever serious.  My grandma graciously puts up with that.  My grandpa still gives my grandma noogies.  My grandma hasn't decked him yet.

They are wonderful parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.  Happy Anniversary (a little late) to my wonderful grandparents!

35 Years

My parents actually flew in for a visit on the day of their 35th wedding anniversary.  I know there are some people who would not want to spend their anniversary with 3 loud and obnoxious boys, but this was exactly where they wanted to be.  And you can't feel too bad for them as they are going to Italy this summer to celebrate.  I was explaining to the boys what an anniversary was, which was really quite confusing.  In the end they got that it is something that happens every year, like a birthday, and something you can celebrate.  So they asked to make a cake.  I'm not sure if that was because they wanted to do something nice for Grandma and Grandpa or if they just wanted cake.

 So I made a cake and the boys decorated it.  I let them cut out pieces of fondant and use my airbrush to add color.

 The grandparents were pleasantly surprised.

1st Anniversary

On December 18, 2011 we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of Hans' installation at River of Life Lutheran Church.  They decided to celebrate with some cakes.

I'm just glad they still like us enough to celebrate the 1st anniversary.  Hans is too.  See?

Four Wonderful Years

Hans and I are celebrating our four year anniversary today. It has been a wonderful and exciting four years that have seem to just fly by.
