Breakfast with Santa

The morning after we decorated the tree, John and Solveig took the boys to have breakfast with Santa.
The boys were very excited to see Santa.

 The John William Fienes

John said he was "thrilled" to see Santa twice!

After breakfast they went around to several shops in the village where there were activities for the kids.  The boys got to decorate cookies at the local bakery.  Then attend story time at the local jewelers.

They ended the morning with a carriage ride.  The boys had a wonderful time!

3 Boys and Santa

The Saturday after Thanksgiving the three boys, Debbie, Pam, and myself all piled in a car and went to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa.  Bass Pro is pretty cool and has tons of fun, free things for kids to do.  The boys went last year and had a great time so they were excited to go again. They had a great time going on carousel rides, playing with remote control cars and shooting suction-cup arrows while waiting to see Santa.  Everyone was in good spirits.  Then Anders had to sit on a strange man's lap.

Santa should get a raise.
Anders settled down quickly after Santa offered him a candy cane which he gladly accepted before running away.

3 Places in 9 Hours with 3 Boys

Debbie and Pam took all three boys ALL DAY!  Not only did they have all three rugrats from 9-6, they worked their magic and were able to keep the three boys, and themselves, pretty happy.  AND, not only did everyone live through the experience, Debbie and Pam took the two oldest boys on an overnight trip to Chicago this past weekend.  These ladies deserve sainthood.

Their fun filled day with the three boys included going to the zoo to decorate a Christmas tree, a trip to Bass Pro Shop for lunch and a visit with Santa, and going to watch a basketball game in which Sophie's team won.  Just writing that sentence made me tired!

The boys really had a good time at Bass Pro Shop and came home with ornaments and other crafts that were all free.  I heard the food isn't too bad either.  If you haven't been there, John says you have to check it out.
