Easter Suits

This year the boys wanted to wear suits.  The last time the boys wore suits was for Anders' baptism.  John's old suit would have fit Gus, but Gus took one look at the brown tone on tone suit and said, "I am NOT wearing that poopy brown suit."  He was adamant.  So I asked Anders if he liked the suit and he thought the poopy suit was cool.

I attempted to get pictures of the three boys.  It was pointless.

This was after all of the morning festivities and Gus was just tired of it all.  Can you tell?

This is my new Easter tradition...a picture with the three boys and Sophie.
Love them!

Just to make Sophie mad, I will also make taking a picture of the two of us a tradition as well.  She secretly loves it...I know it.

The best of the family pics.
Yep, the little one totally fit in the poopy brown suit.

Easter

This year Easter was busier than others.  Hans was talked into having a sunrise service...so it was a long day.  But a great day.

We got there a little before the sunrise service to help start breakfast.  I asked John to take my purse up to the sanctuary and he was not happy to be caught holding a ladies bag.

After the first service the Board of Education hosted a breakfast.  These two beauties "helped" serve.

The boys approved of the hard boiled eggs, sausage, and belgium waffles.

The big guy wanted to "help" as well.  These three look like they are working hard, don't they?

Debbie and Pam did all of the work.  Leave it to these two to put on a fabulous breakfast.

After the breakfast we had an egg hunt for the kiddos.

It really seems the boys love finding the eggs and don't necessarily care what is inside.  Anders stopped even opening his eggs.  He was content after the first four.

After attending the next service, where the Sunday School kids sang, we went home to change and headed to Debbie and Pam's for Easter dinner.  Of course Debbie and Pam also had another egg hunt for the boys.

Sophie had no mercy on John and quickly grabbed all the eggs John could see but couldn't reach.  These two fight like brother and sister.  Actually, they all do.

Then Hans decided it would be fun to try to beat Sophie in a race.  Or maybe it was me that decided it would be fun for him to race her.  Either way, my hubby is awesome and obliged.

Hans got started a little faster then Sophie.

He was in the lead for about 3 seconds.  He was feeling good about himself.

Then Sophie just smoked him.
I think Hans pulled a muscle.

After the race we headed inside for lamb, ham and many wonderful side dishes.
It was a great day!

My 3 Handsome Boys

The boys determined that they wanted to wear a vest and tie again this year for Easter.  They really do like dressing up and they still like to dress a like.  I'm going to take advantage of that for as long as possible.

This is typical Anders.

They really do love each other.  Although I'm pretty sure there was some punching after this photo.

Gus was pretty much done with the photos after the first one.

This is a face Gus has often.  I have to admit it is pretty cute when he is in a tie.  Nothing seems to ever go Gus's way.

Now all three of them are done with pictures.  It didn't take long to get to this point.

This one ended up being my favorite of the bunch.

Easter

We had a house full of people this year for Easter.  We had a few of Hans' cousins and their kiddos here for a few days.  The house was full of cute kids.  All of whom had to get used to our horse of a dog.  It made for a very exciting weekend.
Our new church building was not ready for services yet.  After services in the old building we had our fellowship hour and egg hunt in the new space.  If I can't get my 3 kids to stand for a pic there is no way I was getting a whole group of kids.  Somehow I missed the other half of kids.

The kid enjoyed hunting for eggs on the playground.  One of the boys (not one of mine) would not put an egg in his bag if it was dirty.  He would just pick it up, inspect it, and then drop it back on the ground if it was dirty.  It was very cute.

This is Gus' best friend, Logan.  Gus has been talking about Logan all year and we just started getting together with his family right before Easter.  What a small world this is because Logan's family are also Lutherans and had been looking for a church!

Leah and Andrew and their two cuties.

Lisa and Christian with their 4 cuties. Kristine, their oldest daughter, loved Fritz.  She welcomed him following her around the house and LOVED telling him what to do.

We didn't even attempt to get a nice picture.
One of Hans' other cousins, who is a pastor in Iowa, came to our place later that day with his family.

Beautiful Sophie!  I just love this girl.

The boys love her too.
I have to brag about this girl for a second.  She is one of only three 6th graders to make it to state for track this year.  She is fast!  I wish I could be there to see her run, but Anders is there cheering her on.

An Egg Hunt

After going through some pictures I discovered that I never posted the boys egg hunt on Easter.  Only a month and half after the event...not too late.

John was ready for the hunt.

Debbie and Pam had all the eggs filled and ready to go.

We found a number of eggs that had been broken in to.

That was because this little critter was opening them and burying the goods.  The boys watched him do this a few times and ran out there to yell at him.

Anders got a head start.  Although he was more interested in running around outside than finding eggs.

 John was on a mission.

The boys got a lot of new little toys.  They had a great time opening everything.  It was nice of the squirrel to minimize the chocolate.

Easter Morning

The boys were very excited to wear their coordinating tie and vest outfits on Sunday morning.  They still like to match and I'm going to take advantage of that for as long as possible.
Before church I tried to get a few pictures.

And somehow, out of nowhere, they all decided to sing a song.  Sometimes I feel like they have their own language using only eye contact.

Gus said he wanted to line up in "small, medium and large".  I thought, Great! This will be easy!  It probably would have been if Gus had thought of himself as a medium and not a large.  I was able to capture this one where Gus isn't arguing with me about being the biggest.

After church, Jim drew the boys wonderful pictures of Spider-man, Mario Brothers and Woody.  Jim is very talented and the boys were happy to take the pictures home.

After we got home from church I tried to take a few pictures of the boys outside.
Anders didn't want to sit, John is laughing about something that is probably not funny, and Gus is perturbed.  Just a normal Sunday around here.

Anders finally decided to sit, but John wanted to stand and Gus is still perturbed.

Gus finally got out of his funk and decided to dance.

I attempted to take a picture one more time inside.  Fritz was feeling very left out and parked himself in the picture.  I'd like to say that some days it just isn't meant to be, but the truth is that everyday is like this in our house.  Sometimes I find it comical and other times I don't.  Either way I'm going gray.
