More Putt-Putt

After my Mom smoked Hans in the last round of Putt-Putt, Hans had to have a rematch.

Gus actually played a few holes this time instead of complaining.  And by play a few holes I mean he would set the ball right next to the hole and tap it in.

Anders decided that was the way to go.

I don't have any pictures of the good ol' healthy competition between Hans and my mom.  But Hans did manage to hit a ball out of the course and into the parking lot.  So how do you think it went?

 My little golfers.

To show he doesn't hold a grudge Hans allowed my mom to go with us to the drive-in later that evening.  I actually think this was a sly way for Hans to get back at her since she had to sit through Smurfs 2.

Putt-Putt

At Peak 'n Peek we decided to take part in the Putt-Putt golf course.  The boys were very exited to go and then Gus and Anders found out they had to take turns.  It got a little hairy after that.

Everyone started with a smile.

Gus and Anders didn't even attempt to play.  They just stuck their balls right next to the hole and tapped it in.

Then John discovered he could use his putter as a boom mic.  He interviewed every player after their turn.

Of course Gus had to do whatever John does.

 Interviewing each other.

You can see from the following pictures that Anders is a true 3rd child.

Now, don't get me wrong.  I'm sure Gus sat there to annoy him.

After this Anders got in trouble.

I'm thinking this was Gus's plan all along.

Anders manages to have this face about 60% of the time.

Some of us actually did golf.  In fact my mom and Hans had a good game with some healthy competition going.

Putt Putt

The first night we were at the lake we went to the Charcoal Corral for some ice cream, and John eyed the putt-putt course.  He begged us all week to play and we finally went with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Diane, Jimmy and Ericka.  John is evidently ambidextrous when it comes to golfing.  You could tell he was actually trying to play the game the right way.  Gus...well, Gus is two and just wanted a stick and a ball.

Ericka got her very first hole in one on this outing.

Anders really wanted a stick too.  Actually he tried to eat all the rocks, dirt and turf.

John wants to be just like Jimmy.  When Jimmy sat, John sat.  Too cute.

Lollipops, Putt-Putt and Ice cream

One morning we had breakfast at an Amish restaurant and bulk food store. We go there every year and I always stock up on things I'll need for baking throughout the year such as nutmeg, in whole nut form, almond paste and sprinkles, for all of the fun deserts we make. It didn't take John long to find the lollipops and begin the continuous question, "Can I have one?".

It took him so long to finish that he almost fell asleep.

Across the lake from my grandparents there is a place called the Charcoal Corral and it has a putt-putt course, drive-in theater, pizza place, burger joint and ice cream parlor all in one setting. John's been very into golf so we thought we would take him.

"Where did my ball go?"

"Oh, here it is."

Grandpa and Gus just watched and tried to stay cool.

After golf we got ice cream. John picked a different flavor every time we went. I think he likes this one.
