Yes, I'm a little late with this post since August was one month on the 23rd, but at least it is still April.

Making Cookies
John (and Hans) really wanted some cookies so I decided to be nice and make them. Hans and I are finding that we can't do anything in the kitchen without a little helper so I decided to be brave and let John help me.
He was so excited he did a little dance, it was so cute!
He loved watching it all mix together
He just asked me if we could eat it yet. I made the mistake of letting him lick the beater once and he will never forget that.
John decided that it wasn't mixing fast enough and turned it up, needless to say, flour went everywhere.
All done.
Can you tell he ate one right out of the oven? He had chocolate all over his fingers.

Trip to Indy
Gus and I went to Indy this week to spend some time with my in-laws and attend my future sister in-law's bridal shower. We had a great time and I could not have planned the trip better weather wise as I was enjoying 70 degree days while Hans and John were playing in the snow. I also came back to Denver with great weather and left Indy cold and rainy.
As usual I forgot to take a lot of pictures, but here are a few.
This is still his favorite thing to do.
Ashley (the bride), Solveig (my mother in-law) and me at Ashley's shower.
The party crashers!! I believe they were looking for extra wine and food.

Easter
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Hans' sermon was amazing, of course, and the service was beautiful. We actually had about 50 people in attendance, that has got to be record.
The boys looked very cute in coordinating outfits. Thanks Mom!
John is checking himself out in the mirror. He told himself he looked very handsome.
Gus wasn't too sure about the kiss, but he got over it.
Still can't seem to get many pictures with Gus' eyes opened. But, don't my boys look cute?

The First Two Weeks
Gus will be two weeks old tomorrow. Where does the time go? Here are some pictures of the first two weeks.
These first two were taken by my friend, Jan, when we were still in the hospital.
We didn't see his eyes until he was several days old.
My three boys
Grand Aunt Diane and Gus on the day of his baptism
John loves his little brother and wants to hold and kiss him all the time.
Eyes are open. He isn't too impressed with the world at the moment.

Random pics of John
I thought I would share a few pictures of John from the last couple of weeks.
He is always happy watching Thomas and Friends.
Deeply involved in the Thomas movie with Aunt Diane (Diant)
Putting a Thomas floor puzzle together...see a theme here?
His favorite toy...you guessed it, Thomas trains
Playing in the sprinklers
This is what I looked like the day I finally went into the hospital. I feel a bit better about myself knowing that a rather large baby was in there.
John told me one day that he needed to go upstairs and wash his hands. I didn't hear from him after a few minutes so I called up to Hans to see if everything was OK. When he told me that John never came upstairs we started looking for him and this is how we found him.
This was after we worked in the yard for 5 hours. He was so tired, he slept like this for about an hour and a half.

John and August
Hans put these together and posted them on facebook, but for those of you who aren't on facebook here are some pictures of John and Gus when they were born. I wonder if Gus will look more like me, since John looks so much like Hans.
John and the lost sucker
These pictures were actually taken a bit ago, but I'm just now getting stuff organized.
One day John came in crying that he lost his sucker. Hans and I didn't notice it at first and were able to calm him down with an apple...but look closely and you will see the sucker.
